Welcome to the Bailey Lab!

We work at the interface of organic synthesis, polymer chemistry, and biomedicine to explore how stimuli-responsive bonds can be incorporated into biomaterials for applications in drug delivery, tissue engineering, and biomimicry.

Philosophy

The core goals of the Bailey Lab are to:

  • Conduct high-quality, interdisciplinary research spanning organic synthesis, polymer science, and biomedicine
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all members can show up authentically
  • Guide researchers to be successful scientists and kind humans

This means that we:

  • Approach science creatively and collaboratively
  • Uphold honesty and integrity in all aspects of our work
  • Practice thoughtful communication: both scientific and interpersonal
  • Embrace challenges with curiosity and a growth mindset
  • Treat each member of the lab with respect and care
  • Celebrate the unique backgrounds, identities, and perspectives each member brings
